Mug and a Rug

One of my guilds, Fundy Tide Quilters Guild, is holding a Show and Sell in August. Every member is to purchase a mug and make a mug rug to match. I found this charming mug this weekend.

Gorgeous, eh?! 

So I decided to just use black and white fabric for the mug rug. I didn't want it to stand out too much. I decided that I wanted to have a Paw Print in the middle of the mug rug and then decided to do some improv for the rest. Here's what I came up with for the Mug Rug.

Here's the end result :)

I did minimal quilting on this one. I just outlined the Paw Print which shows up on the backing.
