Carol from Sew Sisters asked me to be part of the Blogathon and I am extremely excited to be part of this! So if you're just visiting my blog for the first time, Welcome :) I've been blogging for just under a year now....I will be having a giveaway for my blog's One Year Anniversary which is less than a month away, if you are interested ;)
So a little about this blog. I originally started writing and posting pictures on this blog for fun. I didn't really expect anyone to read it (besides my sister and mom!). Through this blog, I've met other bloggers and joined the Maritime Modern Quilt Guild. I've learned lots about quilting and sewing from other blogs, my guild, and many You Tube videos. I love interacting with other bloggers from different countries. Seeing someone's finish, progress or headaches tells me that I'm not alone. When I first started, I always thought the quilt had to PERFECT! I've come to realize that the imperfections in a quilt, have their own beauty.
So I hope you enjoy this small glimpse of my blog. Here's what I have been working on lately.
A quilt for Alice.
Next on the WIPs is Maple Leaf blocks.
Another WIPs are these Star Blocks.
The layout of all 9 Star Blocks.
And a Close-Up of one of the blocks.
My latest finish was this Tahoe Tote Bag. I absolutely love it! And it has pockets! Next one will have a zipper though ;)
Well I don't want to keep you too long from enjoying the rest of the blogs on this Blogathon. Enjoy!
And don't forget to enter the giveaways from the host bloggers :) The host bloggers for the Maritimes is Linda from Scrapmaster and Linda from Stitch Lines.
Thanks for visiting! And Thank You to Sew Sisters :)
Julia
Quilting is a new born again hobby of mine. I started a quilt over 7 years ago and then became too busy to finish it. I was reintroduced back into quilting and jumped in with both feet. My grandmother was the first quilter in my life and I still have quilts she made. I love how fabrics can just come together and create something new. This blog shows this side of my life. I answer every comment by email and/or by reply on here. Hope you enjoy my blog. Happy Quilting :)
Greetings from Cape Breton!
