Finished Quilting Projects

Cute Utility Apron

Well I did a bit of sewing/quilting this weekend. I finished quilting the Owl pink/purple panel. I just have to attach the binding. After quilting the panel, I decided I wanted to make my Utility Apron for the Spring Craft market that I will be in with my mom and sister. I thought it would be a great idea to hold change for the market :) And I found this perfect pattern to help @ Sugar Bee crafts. I tweaked it a bit where I just cut out larger pieces and folded them for the pockets. And I also used 2.5" strips for the straps rather than 4" strips. I just love it!

It has three small pockets and a pencil holder for the lower area. And the two large pockets where the floral print is. I just love purple. And I added this fabric for the backing that I purchased a while ago.

I love those sewing machines!

And I'm using a lot of fabric in my stash. A part of me, just wants to "protect" it....you know just pull it out from my stash and admire it....but to my amazement (and my hubby's) I've been slowly using up what I have on hand. Of course, what I have in my stash could probably support my sewing passion for 10 years!

Did you all have a good quilting weekend? Are you using up your stash or did you purchase some new fabric? I'd love to hear about it!

Slow and Steady.

Well it has been 10 days since my last post. Sorry about that. My work has been quite hectic which results in now sewing time for me. I also hopped the train of 21 Day Fix. So between work being quite busy and following 21 DF, I didn't get any quilting time in until this weekend. I sewed up three more pouches.

So these pouches will be added to my items that I will have for sale at a Spring Market next month. I really love this pattern!

I put this panel together today. So I could have some quilting time that does not require much thought. I will need this kind of sewing this week since my work week will be another chaotic one.

Simple organic wavy lines using my walking foot.

And I cut up a panel I bought during the summer and plan to make four Pillow Covers from it. Here's one pillow top finished.

I like the vintage look of the panel which is why I bought it. I think this will turn into a cute pillow cover. I haven't picked out a backing yet. Maybe in the next few weeks.

So in a nutshell, that's what I've been doing over in my small corner of the world.

What about you? Any projects on the go? Wishing for spring?

What a Week!

Well I've been back to work since Monday and it has been busy. I haven't gotten much quilting time but before I went back to work, I did manage to finish a few projects. Remember A Bunch of Crosses from my last post? Well that pillow cover is all finished :)

I choose to do straight line quilting and I am very happy with the result.

So after completing the pillow cover, I started on a make-up brush roll up.

This was quick and easy so I started on three more...

I also received a very squishy package in the mail from Westwood Acres Fabric  :)

The Passport Half Yard Bundle from 3 Sisters! This purchase was definitely an indulgence! I love this fabric line. There are plans for ships, maps, and journal writings fabric designs. They are so beautiful. And another exciting part about receiving this package was the free mini-charm pack for having an order over $75....

Paradiso by Kate Spain! I was over the moon to see this in my package. When I placed the order there was only one mini-charm pack on the page so I selected that one not really thinking much about it. So to receive this mini-charm pack was so thrilling! Definitely on my most wanted fabric list! I have the Horizon Layer Cake by Kate Spain and definitely want to add more Paradiso to my stash :)

Almost Friday!
