Nadia's Story

As some of you know, I made a quilt called Whispering Lake aka Whispering Love back in September for someone special. This post is about her and her story.

 Nadia's Story

Nadia was diagnosed June 18, 2014 with stage 3b ovarian peritoneal cancer. She is still in treatment, receiving chemotherapy. She had major surgery Oct. 6th, 2014. She has been through a lot and continues to smile. There is fundraising efforts to help her continue to pay her living expenses as she continues her treatment.

Here is a link to the online fundraising efforts for Nadia at YouCaring.com. Anything that you can contribute would be greatly appreciated. Every little bit helps to make Nadia's days a bit better.

For people in the Halifax Regional Municipality, there will be a fundraiser auction at Big Leagues in Dartmouth on Saturday, Jan 31 from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. If you would like to donate to the auction, feel free to contact me to make arrangements. If you would like to make a monetary donation, feel free to visit the online fundraiser page or drop into Big Leagues on the 31st :)

Here's a short message from Nadia:

I ask for your support as I have many bills and a mortgage to pay for on my own while I'm off work on long term disability. Hoping 2015 will be my year and I will go into remission. Thanks for the continued support and prayers. Love and light,

Nadia

Here's a quick weekend project that I started Friday night. This will be donated to Nadia's Auction.

Thanks for taking the time to read my post and Nadia's story.

  4. Such a worthy cause... Ovarian cancer is the fifth most common type of cancer and the is most fatal women's cancer. Visit http://www.ovariancanada.org to learn more. Sorry to turn this comment into a PSA, but I hope women will learn more about the very ordinary symptoms of this disease.
