Quilting is a new born again hobby of mine. I started a quilt over 7 years ago and then became too busy to finish it. I was reintroduced back into quilting and jumped in with both feet. My grandmother was the first quilter in my life and I still have quilts she made. I love how fabrics can just come together and create something new. This blog shows this side of my life. Oh Alan Jackson has definitely went through my mind more than a couple of times when I started making the Mercury block. Such a catchy song! I finished up the last four pieces that I needed to do while humming to myself.....
And here it is!
I'm happy to say I'm all finished :)
My seams aren't perfect but I do love the effect.....I believe this is the start of a beautiful relationship!
Now to figure out what I will do with this block.....suggestions?
Oooh! It turned out really well. Love the rainbow-y goodness. Did you know there's a fabric line called Mercury? I think you should make a tonne more of them and turn them into something snuggable (likely not a word!)
Oh, that is so very pretty! The colours look so nice on the grey background. I like Anja's suggestion for a tote bag. Can't wait to see what you come up with. :)
Wow!! You did an awesome job. How big is the block? Maybe a tote bag for yourself? Or a pillow?
