Positively Simple Quilt Revealed!

Well now that the holidays are behind us, I can reveal another quilt that was made for my sister and her husband. She is the mastermind behind Jill's Quilting and Appliqué blog. This quilt was finished in the fall so I have some pretty good outdoor pictures :)

I changed up the quilt pattern for this one. It is the Positively Simple quilt pattern from Fons & Porter. I used the Elementary Collection by Sweetwater for moda fabrics. I know my sister loves this collection so about six months ago, I had an opportunity to get a Layer Cake. And knew that I was going to make a quilt for her and her husband out of it.

I couldn't resist taking this quilt to a local park that is just a walk away. I also did this on a weekday where the kids would be in school. I don't know if they would have been happy about me taking over their playground to snap some pictures.

I didn't have a chance to sew during the week but the weekend was more productive :) I finished 6 Mosaic Tile blocks for the block exchange between me and my sister. I don't want to post pictures yet since they would be in the mail as I write this ;)

I am also trying to catch up on the Mystery Quilt Along hosted by Cheryl @ Meadow Mist Designs.
So much sewing happening over here. Hopefully I'll have some more pictures to post in the coming days. Hope your weekend was as productive as mine :)

  1. What a great pattern. And a great quilt. Good luck playing catch up. We received the final piecing last week. March 8 is the deadline, so you have lots of time.

  2. Julia, that top pic is great. The light was just perfect. But you need to show it off with bigger blog pics. I know, I know... I'm such as taskmaster! :) Love the colour palette for this one. I'm sure your sister must have been delighted!

  4. What a great quilt. Love your colour choice, and the quilting looks fab, though we need a close up picture. Great job.
