Well the day has finally come and Whispering Lake is finished. I just finished packaging this sweet quilt to be put into the mail and off to it's new home. I just love how this quilt turned out. Definitely turned out better than what I expected.
A close-up of the quilting. Rather simple quilting for this quilt.
The backing which shows more of the diamond shape quilting that was done on the center.
And another picture of the quilt. It is just so beautiful! I love all the colours that are in this quilt.
I also get to check this quilt off my Library Project List :) The list is getting shorter and shorter....hopefully I'll have everything on it finished by the end of the year.
I'm hoping to share a story about this quilt and the person who will be receiving this in a later post. For now, I can only release minimal details.
Stay tuned!
Quilting is a new born again hobby of mine. I started a quilt over 7 years ago and then became too busy to finish it. I was reintroduced back into quilting and jumped in with both feet. My grandmother was the first quilter in my life and I still have quilts she made. I love how fabrics can just come together and create something new. This blog shows this side of my life. I answer every comment by email and/or by reply on here. Hope you enjoy my blog. Happy Quilting :)
Great finish! I love how the different prints (batiks, moderns, oldies...) mesh together to form a cohesive look. Well done!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! I'm sure the receiver will love it.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! You did a really good job of balancing the values of the lights and darks... not always an easy task!
ReplyDeleteAwesome finish, Julia! You did a wonderful job.
