I decided on making the Modern Lattice quilt for a co-worker's little one. It is coming along nicely. It took a little while to decide on a layout....and also panic in thinking that maybe I choose the wrong palette. But after having my hubby's opinion on it, I decided to go for it. Here is the first layout....
I felt like there was something missing. I went through the rest of the 5" x 10" pieces and picked out pieces with blue flowers on a green background.
I feel the little pop in colour really helps. I think I may bind this quilt with some shade of blue fabric. to add more blue into the quilt. I am trying to keep it as gender neutral as I can.
After I figured out the layout, I went right into making the blocks.
And now my rows are done.
If only I could quilt all day....ah. I am hoping to have the top done tomorrow after work. Since there isn't too much left. It really did come together quickly which would come in handy for a quick baby shower gift :)
So happy that Lorna @ Sew Fresh Quilts shared this pattern. So quick and easy to put together :)
Quilting is a new born again hobby of mine. I started a quilt over 7 years ago and then became too busy to finish it. I was reintroduced back into quilting and jumped in with both feet. My grandmother was the first quilter in my life and I still have quilts she made. I love how fabrics can just come together and create something new. This blog shows this side of my life. I answer every comment by email and/or by reply on here. Hope you enjoy my blog. Happy Quilting :)
Nice pattern! Your colours look great.
